Here at Shutterbug Photo Mall.com our classes are packed with fun and learning. We provide information you can take and use immediately to improve your photography. Whether you are a professional or an amateur photographer we have a class that will benefit you.

Our Instructors are the best in the business. We have 18 professional photographers on staff that share your enthusiasm and love for photography. Even after classes end, Shutterbug's instructors are available to discuss questions in further detail.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations two weeks prior to first class will receive a full refund. Cancellations one week prior receive 50% store credit. Cancellations less than one week prior will be rescheduled but not refunded. Partial refunds for classes missed are not available.

Inclement Weather

In times of inclement weather you may call the store to check the status of your class. Please dial 270-781-3315. Shutterbug Photo Mall.com reserves the right to cancel classes with less than 50% enrollment. Full credit will be issued toward the class of student's choice.

> July 26th - Canon Digital SLR I - Saturday, 10am to 2pm

This class covers the basic use and operation of the Canon cameras. This class will emphasize the Digital Rebel series cameras. This class will cover how to get your camera out of automatic mode. Learn what all those buttons and dials do. This class is a stepping stone to many of our other classes.

This class covers the basic use and operation of the Canon cameras. This class will emphasize the 10D, 20D, 30D and 40D cameras. This class will cover how to get your camera out of automatic mode. This class will introduce you to your camera and some of its features. It will explain megapixels, white balance and other basics of digital photography.

> August 16th - Nikon Digital SLR II - Saturday, 10am to 2pm

This class covers the basic use and operation of the Nikon cameras. This class will emphasize the D200 and D300 cameras. This class will cover how to get your camera out of automatic mode. Learn what all those buttons and dials do. This class is a stepping stone to many of our other classes.

This class introduces you to the world of photo editing. Learn about all the basics you need to edit your photos at home.

> August 23rd - Basic Technique and Composition - Saturday, 10am to 2pm

This class is geared to SLR camera users. This class class will emphasize creative use of white balance, shutter speed, aperture and depth of field. Composition techniques like “panning” and “The Rule of Thirds” will be discussed in detail. Students taking this class are expected to have at least a basic working knowledge of their camera. You must already be at least somewhat familiar with terms like “white balance”, “shutter and aperture priority” and “depth of field”. If you are not familiar with these terms, please take SLR I or II before attending.

> August 30th - Sports and Action Photography - Saturday, 10am to 5pm

This class covers techniques for shooting sports and action. This class is geared towards SLR style cameras. You must have a basic knowledge of your camera and an understanding of shutter priority and aperture priority modes. Topics like “panning” freezing action will be discussed.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

 

> Intro to Digital Photography

- What are pixels? What is white balance? What do all those buttons do? What's the difference between a point and shoot and SLR? Discuss basic camera features, basic composition, flash exposure and overrides, and additional accessories.

 

> Advanced Point & Shoot

- Your point and shoot camera can do so much more. Bring in your photos on cd and unlock the hidden mysteries of your compact camera in this unique hands-on class led by Shutterbug Camera Store Manager Kevin Autry.

 

> SLR 1 / Basic Photography

- In this class you will become familiar with your camera and gain an understanding of its basic functions and modes. You will also learn about camera features, basic composition, exposure control, depth of field and additional accessories. Please come prepared by bringing your camera and manual.

 

> SLR 2 / Intermediate Photography

- Bring your photos on CD and your questions to this open forum on advanced photographic techniques. This class builds on your experience and helps unravel questions that may have arisen after using your camera for a period of time.

 

> Nikon Digital SLR (D40 / D40x / D80)

- This is a camera specific class that explains what each button and dial on your camera does, when to use them and why. You will be expected to have readyour manual prior to this class.

 

> Nikon Digital SLR (D200 / D300)

- This is a camera specific class that explains what each button and dial on your camera does, when to use them and why. You will be expected to have readyour manual prior to this class.

 

> Canon Digital SLR (Digital Rebel XT / XTi)

- This is a camera specific class that explains what each button and dial on your camera does, when to use them and why. You will be expected to have readyour manual prior to this class.

 

> Canon Digital SLR (30D / 40D)

- This is a camera specific class that explains what each button and dial on your camera does, when to use them and why. You will be expected to have read your manual prior to this class.

 

> Basic Photoshop

- In this class you willbecome familiar with some of the tools of Adobe Photoshop. Learn how to navigate the workspace, what each tool is used for and basic photo retouching. You will leave this class more confident using Photoshop. This class will be taught by Shutterbug Lab Manager Frank Jarboe.

 

> Studio Lighting 101

- This class is geared toward the beginning profesional and the pro wanting a refresher course. Learn what lights work well for people and products, as well as the difference between light strobes, hot lights, and florescent lights. Learn what soft boxes, grids, reflectors, hard lights, diffusors, and umbrellas do and how to use them. This class will be taught by Shutterbug owner Jim Roshan. Lunch will be served.
